Enjoying our time at the Gulf

For the past 10 days most of the campground had internet access but unfortunately we were unlucky.  There seemed to be quite a delay in getting it fixed due to the Thanksgiving holiday. 

The weather continues to be very good; chilly in the morning, in the upper 60's low 70's by noon, and then chilly when the sun sets.  This area received some much needed rain earlier in the week so we did have two cloudy days.  It is supposed to be back in the 70's this weekend.  Just in time for our friends, Jed & Sarah, from Kankakee to arrive for a visit!

The Poarch Creek Indian Thanksgiving Pow-wow was very nice.  There were drum, dance, and singing contests.  The costumes were more feathers and applique work than beads or buckskin. 
If you ever get the opportuity to attend a Pow-wow, we would encourage you to go. 

Right now it is all about the Christmas in the Gulf.  The local newspaper, The Mullet, lists all of the area events.  Each town seems to have their own holiday parade and beach celebration.  Plus there are numerous church bazaars, open houses, concerts, nightly music, and so many activities for the children!  The list goes on and on.

The park is getting empty again as campers have left to be home for Christmas. My exercise class has decreased by 50%.  Two of our neighbors have headed home to St. Louis and Iowa.  Hopefully the next RV that pulls in will have people that are as nice as these couples were!
