Well, here we sit in the trailer "trying" to see Mackinac Island thru the rain and fog. Hopefully the weather will clear for the ferry ride tomorrow morning to the island. We arrived in St. Ignace, MI late this morning after a wonderful visit at Tahquamenon Falls SP. It's been a few days without WiFi so this blog will be a combination from Picture Rock and Tahquamenon Falls.
August 11-13th
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore:
We have a new appreciation of the word “pristine” that is
often used to describe this area; pictured rocks, sandstone cliffs, beaches,
sand dunes, waterfalls, lakes, forest, and shoreline. Since words cannot begin to express the beauty found here in the
UP, I’ll let you see for yourself.

August 14-15, 2012
After a wonderful three days in Munising, MI and the
lakeshore area, we drove 150 miles east to Tahquamenon Falls SP. The camping grounds are beautiful with large
sites nestled in the trees. Within the
park are 35 miles of hiking trails including the River Falls trail that follows
the Tahquamenon River from the Lower Falls to the Upper Falls. We completed the 8 mile, out and back, and
saw some amazing trees and river views.
The riverbed near the falls is all rock so the water is crystal
clear.
