Mackinac Island

Friday was our last day of vacation.  The sky was dark and overcast and we were a bit disappointed as it was our day to visit Mackinac Island.  We were on the boat at 8:30 and by 11 the sky was clear with some clouds.  It was a beautiful day to be out and about on the island.  Enjoy...

Grand Hotel

The hotel sits on the southwestern bluff and overlooks the Straits of Mackinac.

660 feet of front porch wrapped by flags and geraniums

Mackinac Bridge in the distance

Rifle firing demonstration at Fort Mackinac

Beautiful Victorian houses with stunning flowers lined the streets

Beautiful horses too!

Carriage ride tour: front of the Grand Hotel

Arch Rock: 146 feet above shoreline of Lake Huron

One of several cemeteries on the island.

Flowers everywhere

Beautiful flower boxes

Ferry boat with "rooster crow" water spray

Good-bye to the island

Our next vacation will be late September when we head back to TN.  See you then!
