We packed up the RV and left Monday, August 6th for a two week trip around MI. Our first stop was at Devil's Lake SP in Wisconsin. We camped two days and did some hiking and soaking up the rays at the beach. Motor boats are not allowed on the lake. The water was so clear and very warm with a soft "sandy" bottom. RV's and tents were all mixed together at the campground. It is great to see so many families with young children tent camping. Water balloon toss seemed to be the game of the day!
We enjoyed hiking in the Pocupine Mountains several years ago and have wanted to return. The SP was full so we are at a private campground in Ontonagon, MI, about 15 miles east of the park. We drove in the rain on Wednesday but the weather cleared as we set up camp and enjoyed the evening. We picked black raspberries here at the campground. My freezer is packed with four quart bags of berries. Not sure how many will be left by the time we get home.
We enjoyed visiting with a couple from Canada. They just bought their 5th wheel a month ago. It was nice to have them sit inside our "home" and not feel crowded. They live in International Falls and are snowbirds in the winter in the US.
It rained during the night and most of the day today. We drove into the town for a tour of the Ontonagon Harbor Lighthouse, built in 1866. It was decommissioned in 1964. Today volunteers live in the lighthouse and give the tours.
Our campground is small, with at most 10 RV's, and one little trailer.....

Guess you had rain as did we on Thursday. You should have some cooler weather for hiking, etc. Hope your week turns out great.
