Sept 23-25th: Emily and Steve's wedding weekend

We had an easy 2 1/2 hour drive to the ranch.  We left the RV at the state park and stayed at the lodge.  The room seemed pretty big after 6 weeks in the trailer.

I have been friends with Sarah since the mid-70's when we worked together at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL.  She was and still is married to Jed and they have 2 daughters, Laura and Emily.  Sarah sang at our wedding 35 years ago.  It has been way too many years since I last saw her daughters.  So we were thrilled to be invited to Emily and Steve's wedding and that the timing was perfect with our trip.

Late Friday afternoon we headed over to the zipline area.  Climbing an 85 ft pole was not our idea of fun, but it was fun watching everyone else climb and zip!  Jed was one of the brave souls to climb and zip!

This in not Jed in case you were wondering how he changed clothes.  Phil took a video of Jed as he "zipped' along.

The groom's parents invited everyone to a BBQ after the wedding rehersal.  There were about 100 guests.

This morning, Sunday, a breakfast was hosted by the bride's parents.  It was a great time to sit around and visit one last time with new friends.  It was a beautiful weekend!

We did stop for a short hike at Berthoud pass during the drive home.

Last hike of the trip

We are back at the campground and I need to start packing up the trailer.  Tomorrow we start the 2 or 3 day home.  The six weeks have flown by and we have so many wonderful memories and pictures for reminders.

Oh, I do plan to add one last blog page; weird photos along the way.  So stay tuned as I hope to have it ready in about a week!
