They arrived late afternoon on Thursday.   We have been catching up with them and learning from Mark more about his life in and around Montgomery Creek.  Chris says we will really love his property and cabin nestled in between the trees and along the creek.  We will get to see that on Tuesday.  We will also meet Heidi, his girlfriend, and her daughters.  So excited!

Yesterday we were gone most of the day exploring the redwoods and tide pools along the coast.  So much fun.  At one beach we found a sea lion that had been washed on shore and was just barely breathing.  Very sad but part of the circle of life and death.  Phil is happy as Chris brought his old camera.  I'm not sure when I will have a connection to upload any of those photos.

So Mark has to drive home today, but we will see him again on Monday evening,  We were planning to camp at his property but the road and drive onto his place still needs work.  So we have to figure out where we are going to stay once we get there.  It gets a little difficult with the Labor Day holiday and no available sites.  If all else fails, we can park at the casino RV park and be on a parking lot for 7 nights. After he leaves we head south on 101 to explore with Chris.  Sunday we will head north on 101 and drive to Brookings, OR and then on Monday we will complete the 5-6 hour drive to Mark's.  It will be a busy couple of days.

By the way the fan is working to block out the barking sea lions and the fog horn at night.  Chris and Mark must be sound sleepers as they have not heard them.   Our microwave, only 15 months old, is officially dead!  Maybe we will have time to pull it out and find a new new.  If not, we will deal with  it when we get home.  We moved to this park last Thursday so we would have a little more room with the boys.  As we were pulling out, we noticed one of the tires on the RV needed air.  So we stopped at a tire store and we had to replace the tire.  Somewhere we had picked up a nail and a screw.  We were lucky it didn't go flat when driving.

Not seeing a child for 10 months is just too long.  I think the truck and RV will be making quite a few trips west over the next years!
