Our time here in Gulf Shores, AL is rapidly coming to a close. It seems like it was just yesterday when we arrived on October 26th. It has been fun meeting people, bicycling the trails, walking on the beach, and exploring the area. We learned that fish "tacos' are really good, pickled watermelon rind on the grill does taste good, shrimp bought from a local shrimper is the best, and leg muscles do get stronger the more you walk in the sand!
Camping is a lifestyle we both still enjoy and it has been a good experience staying put in one place instead of packing up every 3 days. As much as we have enjoyed living in the RV we are looking forward to going home. I'll get used to the cold and plug in the treadmill. But we will be back here in January 2014 for at least two months.
Phil has been taking lots of photos and has quite a collection of "beach" pictures. He has been waiting for the perfect sunset and was quite excited yesterday evening.
We start the two day drive home on January 1st. Our next trip will be late March to the Buffalo National River near Yellville, AR. We will help with the ongoing building of the Buffalo River Hiking Trail. Some day this 24 mile connector will be completed. Phil has been there numerous times while I have been there just once before.
I leave you with one photo from this evening. Until next time.....
