Hot Springs AR and deer hunting season

We arrived at Hot Springs on Friday after a 11 hour ride.  It was a long day, little rain here and there.  One of the unique attractions in this town, for us, is a National Park in the town.  We have hiked several of the trails already and will probably head back there tomorrow.

Today we drove out of town and hiked in a National Forest.  A guy hiking on the trail reminded us that this deer hunting season and hunting is allowed is this forest.  He mentioned this to us  when we were at the turn around site and had 4 miles to return to the car.  He also cautioned me about wearing a white shirt and encouraged us to get orange hats or vests.  Funny thing is that Phil does have a orange hat at home and it never once crossed our mind about deer hunting.

This area has had a very dry summer and fall and there is no color to speak of anywhere,  I don't plan on uploading any photos as the Internet works best from the registration area and not from the room.  Plus the registration closes at 4 pm.  We should have beautiful weather for the next four days in the mid to high 60's

Hope all is well.

  1. Watch out for those deer, not only on the trails, but driving in the area too! I speak from experience.
