Sunrise on the morning we left St Marys at Glacier

We arrived last evening around 5 pm. We had to stop at a Wal-Mart for some food, which ended up being a hour stop. Phil had been having difficulty with the crank that raises and lowers the RV onto the ball of the hitch. So as were we driving thru a town called Black Diamond, Phil noticed a car repair shop. He stopped and boy did we luck out. Shane, the young man who is the owner, had just what we needed (part of his business is renting out utility trailers) and was very familiar with hitches. So for less than $100 we got that replaced. Plus while we were waiting he told us to pick saskatoon berries at the house next door. They are similar do blueberries just smaller. So we picked berries while we waited and then shared our tuna fish sandwiches with him for lunch. He sat with us in the RV. We enjoyed our time with him. He thought we should sell our RV and upgrade as we could get a great dealing selling in Canada. We did not hesitate to say no! We also stopped a Frank Slide. This was the scene of a rockslide in 1903 that destroyed ½ of the town and killed 90 people. It was a long day driving but so worth it to have the hitch crank replaced.

In Banff the mountains are larger and more majestic than those found in Waterton. Today was our first day to hike and we awoke to another blue sky. So we took a shuttle bus up to Sunshine Meadow, a ski area. We completed a 7 mile hike thru the meadows, around 3 lakes, with just a slight incline on the mountain.

That’s it for now!
